Paris Fury has revealed that there were a ‘couple of times’ that she wanted to leave her husband, heavyweight champion boxer, Tyson Fury.
Paris Fury has opened up about her relationship with Tyson Fury, revealing that she wanted to leave him on a couple of occasions.
Paris, 36, has been in the spotlight this week as the second season of her family’s reality show, At Home with The Fury’s, has launched on Netflix. In a recent podcast, she opened up about her husband’s struggles with his mental health, admitting that there were two occasions when she considered leaving him. While appearing on Jamie Laing‘s Great Company podcast, she said that she was going through “hell” during the times when Tyson’s mental health was poor, and he was thinking about ending his life.
“You can’t understand how someone can wake up and not want to live when you’ve got everything at their feet. You’ve got the money, you’ve got the homes, you’ve got the kids, you’ve got the family, you’ve got the health, but you’re depressed.
“It doesn’t make sense, but it’s an imbalance in the brain, that you can’t control,” she said, adding that once he was diagnosed things became much better.
Paris added that she even considered leaving him: “Yeah, I wanted to leave. It was a couple of times when Tyson was out drinking. So the kids got put to bed at 7pm, they didn’t see dad not coming home until 2 or 3 in the morning, paralytic drunk or other substances as well.
“Thank God he was only ever detrimental to himself.” She then admitted: “There would be times when I’d think, ‘I can’t deal with this. I don’t want to deal with this. But you know again, it was ‘in sickness and in health’.”
She said ultimately she loves her husband and didn’t know what she’d come back to if she left him. She added that she wasn’t giving the advice to everyone listening to do what she did, but in her situation, she wanted to stay by his side.
In the interview with Jamie, Paris also explained exactly why she decided to name four of her seven children ‘Prince.’ Saying after she named the first one Prince, it felt unfair to not give the rest of them the title too.
The couple are parents to Venezuela, 16, Prince John James, 14, Prince Tyson Fury II, nine, Valencia Amber, eight, Prince Adonis Amaziah, seven, Athena, four, and little Prince Rico Paris Fury, two.
In the same interview, she also opened up about her husband’s fallout with his father John, explaining that they both run hot and cold. “They always go through this. You know you’ve got two very headstrong people. One probably more headstrong than the other.”
She added: “Everyone’s saying it is a social media stunt and it’s not. It’s a family rift that’s going on at the moment and I hope they resolve it because I think there’s nothing more important than your family.
“I know they love each other deeply deep down and for whatever reason whether it be pride, or whatever – they have an issue, his dad has an issue. And I hope they can resolve it.
She added: “Tyson knew his dad had certain feelings to people in the camp and he’s always said I am my own man and I’ll do things my own way, and he has always done that. And that this is where he’s got for it, so he looks at it like, ‘I’ve done my own choices all my life.’
“His dad’s had opinions on different things he shouldn’t have done in the past and he’s done and it’s went unbelievably well. He said don’t fight Deontay Wilder. It’s the best trilogy in boxing history.”
In March, he told Daily Mail that boxing had “completely destroyed” his relationship with his son: “My relationship with Tyson is destroyed. Boxing destroyed it completely. I’ll say it on camera: I’ve never taken £10 off him in my life and I never will. I don’t want Tyson’s money and I don’t need Tyson’s money.
“Whatever he’s got, good luck to him. But, don’t forget who built his story when he was a kid. He didn’t build it himself, did he? Me, his father.” Tyson replied in April that he wasn’t bothered if his father supported him: “I’m unaware of what has happened but he’s entitled to his opinion. Just like everyone is and I’m sure he’ll change it a million times over and over again. I haven’t really paid attention to it because I take it with a pinch of salt. He might have been upset, he might have been a bit down or he might have been depressed. I don’t know what he was going through.
“I don’t know if he will turn up and I don’t care. I’ve got business to take care of and who’s in the crowd is not important to me at all. All I am going to be thinking about is Arslanbek Makhmudov and looking forward to it and getting the job done.”
