Karimnagar: Peddapalli MLA Ch. Vijayaramana Rao on Thursday criticised BRS leader and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao, accusing him of making misleading statements against the State government.
Addressing a press conference, Vijayaramana Rao alleged that Harish Rao was attempting to blame the government due to growing public support for the Congress.
He said irrigation projects across the state have received substantial inflows over the past two years following good rainfall. He also stated that the state recorded high cultivation of paddy and maize during this period.
The MLA alleged that the Thummidihutti–Chevella project proposed earlier was redesigned by the previous government for its own interests. He further claimed that the Kaleshwaram project, constructed at a cost of ₹1 lakh crore during the BRS regime, suffered damage within two years.
He also criticised the design of the project, stating that water was lifted and discharged back into the same river, and alleged that public funds were misused in constructing barrages on the Godavari.
Vijayaramana Rao demanded that Harish Rao explain the reasons for the reported damage to the Kaleshwaram project.
