Perrie Edwards and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have been together for a decade and engaged for four years, but they are set to become man and wife as early as this weekend
Perrie Edwards and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are set to tie the knot in Portugal this weekend, according to reports. The singer and footballer, who share two kids together, have been engaged for four years.
It’s said the duo will fly out to the Algarve this week to exchange vows in front of family and close friends. Perrie’s bandmates Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock are thought to be ready to join her – but after her recent comments it’s perhaps no surprise Jesy Nelson won’t be on the guest list.
Some of Alex’s Celtic teammates and a number of former teammates will also be in attendance. It’s said the couple have been planing their big day for “some time” and are excited for it to come around.
A source told The Sun: “It is a very intimate celebration. It is everything Perrie and Alex have ever wanted.” It will come 10 years after the pair first met.
Perrie had hinted her big day was close last month as she said: “There’s so much coming up in both my personal and professional life — my wedding!
“I tried on the dress the other day and I’m so happy with it. I feel very fulfilled in my life right now, and I’m very happy with the balance. But yeah, a lot is going on — babies, dogs, planning my wedding.”
But while Portugal seems to once again be the couple’s choice of destination, Perrie admitted previously that she had second thoughts after revisiting the location.
She said: “I want to get married, but I don’t know where now. I haven’t even sent out ‘save the dates’. But I do really want to get married soon.”
The wedding comes as Perrie opened up a potential new war of words with former band mate Jesy. She told Jamie Laing on his podcast: “What annoys me is the most, and again I have to be careful how I say this as I don’t want to seem like a b**** but for me what upsets me the most is when situations like this happen and the other person doesn’t take any accountability, that boils my blood!
“I am not blaming everything on you, I am not saying that she’s this f****** monster and everything was her thought blah, blah, blah but take some accountability for your actions and realise you were difficult, you did have difficult moments.”
But the comments didn’t sit well with Jesy’s sister, who quickly hit back. Jade Nelson released a lengthy post on Instagram.
Within the post, Jade said: “She’s fully aware she was hard to deal with but through it all if any other single person were struggling with a break up, anxiety, life, she was there! lsn’t that what you do as friends or if you love someone?”
