Hyderabad:The National Pharmacokinetic–Pharmacodynamic (PK–PD) was held at the the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (Nims) by the department of clinical pharmacology to train technical competencies and inspire participants, especially young pharmacologists, to evolve into skilled pharmacometricians.
Experts said that in the current era, where drug development was increasingly driven by quantitative modelling, precision medicine, and stringent regulatory expectations, the importance of PK–PD evidence had grown significantly. The workshop served as a dedicated scientific platform to strengthen foundational knowledge and promote advanced learning in PK–PD principles.
Present at the workshop were Nims director Dr N. Beerappa and dean Dr Liza Rajashekhar. The programme was led by additional professor and department head Dr C. Prabhakar Reddy.
The workshop was designed to provide a comprehensive and practical learning experience. It included expert lectures, case-based discussions, and hands-on training sessions focused on pharmacokinetic–pharmacodynamic experiments.
