Hyderabad: With the Telangana High Court refusing interim protection to Bandi Sai Bageerath, son of Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay Kumar, in the POCSO case registered at the Petbasheerabad police station, the state police have issued a lookout notice against him.
The Cyberabad Police have intensified efforts to locate the accused, who is currently not traceable. Officials have formed five special teams to search for Bageerath. Searches are underway in Hyderabad, Karimnagar, and Delhi. Police are also checking his residence in Banjara Hills.
On Friday, a vacation bench of the Telangana High Court declined to grant interim protection from arrest to Bandi Sai Bageerath. Justice T. Madhavi Devi, after hearing the anticipatory bail petition filed by Bageerath’s counsel, reserved orders for Thursday, May 21. The judge refused to grant interim protection, status quo, or any other relief to Bageerath, despite repeated requests from his counsel.
Senior counsel S. Niranjan Reddy, appearing for Bageerath, requested the court to pronounce orders on May 18 or give oral directions to the police not to take action against his client. The court, however, stated that the vacation bench could not sit for pronouncement of orders.
