State Finance, Planning, Commercial Taxes and Legislative Affairs Minister Payyavula Keshav said the police play a crucial role in maintaining peace and security and urged newly recruited constables to discharge their duties with responsibility and commitment.
Addressing the passing-out parade of the Civil Constables of the 2025-26 batch at the District Police Training Centre here on Saturday, Mr Keshav said the khaki uniform brought both authority and responsibility. Police personnel on the roads were the government’s representatives in the eyes of the public and their conduct would shape people’s perception of the government, he said.
He said police duties had no fixed working hours and personnel often faced risks while protecting citizens. Their sacrifices enabled people to celebrate festivals and sleep peacefully, he added.
Keshav asked the newly recruited constables to make effective use of technology to prevent and detect crimes and remain updated. They should work with humanity and ensure that the uniform inspired confidence among victims and fear among criminals, he said. He also expressed pride that the largest batch in the State was passing out from Anantapur.
Collector O. Anand congratulated the personnel on completing nine months of training and entering service. He asked them to follow discipline and the guidance of senior officers and deal with public grievances in a lawful, impartial and responsible manner.
He said people expected justice, security and quality service from the police and urged the new personnel to translate their training into effective field-level policing.
SP P. Jagadish, PTC principal Edupalli Supraja, training RIs, RSIs, inspectors, personnel and family members of the recruits attended the programme. Meritorious trainees in indoor and outdoor training were presented mementoes and certificates.
