TIRUPATI: Telugu Desam (TD) leader Pulivarthi Sudha Reddy followed YSRC leader Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy from one polling booth to another in Chandragiri constituency on Thursday.
Sudha Reddy, wife of sitting MLA Pulivarthi Nani and general agent for a TD candidate, confronted Bhaskar Reddy near the polling station at Saptagiri Colony and told him that she would follow him wherever he went. She alleged that he could provoke TD leaders and create disturbances at polling stations, potentially leading to demands for repolling.
Bhaskar Reddy remained silent as she continued to follow him. “I will come only with my brother (Chevireddy). I will go wherever he goes. I will even travel in his car”, she said. Sudha Reddy said she would accompany him like an escort throughout the day.
As Bhaskar Reddy visited polling stations to inspect arrangements, Sudha accompanied him. At one point, when he stopped to speak over the phone, she stood beside him and asked the police to allow only voters inside the polling stations. She said she wanted polling to be conducted peacefully.
Meanwhile, YSRC Chandragiri coordinator Chevireddy Mohith Reddy said the High Court had directed officials to install CCTV cameras at every polling station in the constituency and record the entire polling process. He said the footage should be preserved and submitted to the court.
