Hyderabad: BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Saturday conducted a review meeting with officials on constituency development, the construction of Indiramma houses, and the resolution of Prajavani petitions at the Husnabad municipal office.
Petitions received through Prajavani, mainly concerning land issues, electricity, Indiramma houses, and pensions, were reviewed. Officials were instructed to register every application and resolve it promptly. They were told to treat people with respect and warned that action would be taken if they were negligent. They were also instructed to ensure that widow pensions are implemented within 15 days.
Under the Praja Palana government, 5,500 Indiramma houses were sanctioned for the Husnabad constituency over two years. In the first phase, 1,427 houses have been completed so far, while another 1,346 houses have reached roof level.
Dissatisfaction was expressed that only 94 of the 545 houses in Husnabad town have been completed. Officials were instructed to review construction progress in all mandals, prepare proposals to cancel houses where work has not begun, and complete stalled construction quickly.
Selection of houses for the second phase must be completed within 10 days. In the second phase, 96 houses were allocated to Husnabad town, 86 to rural areas, 167 to Akkennapet, 192 to Koheda, 173 to Chigurumamidi, 159 to Saidapur, 188 to Bheemadevarapalli, and 158 to Elkathurthi.
Officials were instructed to identify genuinely eligible poor families in all mandals, complete the selection process within 10 days, and issue proceedings. They were told that families who received a house in the first phase would not be allotted another in the second phase, and that government employees and families owning more than three acres of land were not eligible.
Officials were informed that the goal was to develop all 173 villages in the Husnabad constituency, beyond political considerations.
Officials were instructed to ensure that Deepavali celebrations are held in a grand manner in the 2,728 newly built Indiramma houses in the constituency, with public representatives and officials participating.
It was suggested that the distribution of free aids to the elderly and persons with disabilities under ALIMCO be made successful, with extensive publicity through drum announcements and flex banners, and that aids be provided to all eligible people.
The allocation of land for government needs and the implementation of the Jalashree and oil palm programmes were reviewed. Officials were instructed to take advance measures to prevent drinking water problems in summer and to give priority to resolving petitions received from the public under the ‘Palle Palleku Ponna Anna – Palle Pallelo Praja Palana’ programme.
Officials were advised to work in coordination to ensure that government welfare schemes reach every eligible person and to accelerate the development of the Husnabad constituency.
