As the organization looks to find answers for a struggling secondary, the Detroit Lions were linked to former Pro Bowler and free agent cornerback Kenny Moore II.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo said before Sunday’s NFL slate that the Lions had “checked in” on Moore. Moore, 31, was released by the Indianapolis Colts this past spring after they couldn’t find a suitable trade partner.

But, on Tuesday, Moore signed a one-year deal worth up to $3 million with the Philadelphia Eagles. Per Garafolo, the plan is for Moore to play safety and nickel corner for the Eagles.
Originally an undrafted free agent out of Valdosta State, Moore played nine season for the Colts. The 5-foot-9 corner was a Pro Bowler in 2021. In his career, he has played in 132 games, started 111, and recorded 649 tackles, 68 passes defended, 39 tackles for loss, 21 interceptions, 20 quarterback hits, and six forced fumbles.
Moore has returned four interceptions for touchdowns.
Through the season’s first two weeks, the Lions‘ defense currently ranks 31st in total defense (457.5 yards allowed per game), 31st in passing defense (310.5 passing yards allowed per game), 28th in rushing defense (147.0 rushing yards allowed per game), and 31st in scoring defense (35.5 points allowed per game).
