Meghan Markle posted a wholesome photo on social media to celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday, with some eagle-eyed royal fans noticing on key detail about Prince Archie’s outfit
Meghan Markle shared a new photo of Prince Harry with their children Archie and Lilibet, with royal fans noticing a sweet detail that references the UK. To celebrate Father’s Day, the Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to post a photo of her husband and children, which shows Harry smiling widely as his young kids gave him a big hug, with their faces obscured from the camera.
Meghan wrote alongside the photo: “They are so lucky to have you, we all are. Happy Father’s Day to our one and only.” And while the sweet moment garnered much attention, Prince Archie’s choice of outfit stood out.
The seven-year-old was wearing an England football top that appears to read: “England FIFA World Cup,” and features an image of a huge football.
With the World Cup raging on in the US, fans were thrilled to see the young royal honouring the country where he was born, despite not living there for six years.
One fan wrote on X about Archie’s top: “Our little Prince Archie in his England #WorldCup2026 Jersey,” while another said: “Archie repping the Three Lions already.”
The nod to Harry’s home country comes just days after it was revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their three children, will be heading to the UK in July for a special Invictus Games event.
The family will travel to Birmingham in a matter of weeks where they will attend the official one year countdown event ahead of the 2027 Invictus Games, of which Harry is a founder.
Reports have claimed that Harry and Meghan have been offered to stay in royal accommodation, and while it is not known if they have accepted, insiders claim they will be ‘likely’ to meet with King Charles during their rare visit.
Charles has spent very little time with his grandchildren, as it is believed their 2022 trip for the Queen’s Jubilee was the first and only time Charles has met Lilibet, who recently celebrated her fifth birthday.
The last time Meghan was in Britain was for the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in 2022, while Archie and Lilibet last travelled to the UK just months earlier for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
According to reports from News.com.au, Harry has longed to bring his family back to his homeland for many years, with a source telling the publication: “It’s been a real point of great sadness – for Harry especially – that he’s been unable to bring his wife and kids back to the UK safely to reconnect with friends and family, but anyone would understand his desire to put their safety first.”
They continued: “He would love to introduce the children to his wider family, to show them the UK, where he grew up – his homeland. That would be a natural thing for any parent.”
