Tottori –
Princess Aiko, the only daughter of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako, arrived in Tottori Prefecture on October 19 for her first visit to the region, where she is scheduled to attend a national disaster prevention conference and a symposium on disaster preparedness.

Dressed in a light green outfit, Princess Aiko arrived at Tottori Airport at around 10:30 a.m., where she exchanged greetings with the prefecture’s vice governor and other officials who had gathered to welcome her.

Tottori Prefecture is known as the birthplace of Gosho Aoyama, the creator of the popular manga series “Detective Conan.” During her arrival at the airport, Princess Aiko smiled as she viewed trick art featuring the famous detective character while listening to explanations from local officials.

The airport features artwork and displays inspired by the manga series, reflecting the region’s connection to its internationally recognized creator.

The visit marks Princess Aiko’s first trip to Tottori Prefecture. She is scheduled to travel to Kurayoshi City in the afternoon to attend the National Conference on Promoting Disaster Risk Reduction, an event that includes symposiums focused on disaster preparedness and encouraging public awareness of disaster risks.
