Katie Price and Peter Andre’s children Junior and Princess Andre, who appear on Celebrity Race Across the World, recalled a “scary” childhood moment at their mother’s home
Princess and Junior Andre have opened up about a chilling childhood experience that left them with “shivers” at their mum Katie Price‘s former home. Earlier this year, the siblings appeared on the Not My Bagg podcast, where host Joe Baggs asked them to share their funniest childhood memories. However, Junior’s response quickly took an unexpected turn.
“I mean, when I think of childhood memories for us, it’s either scary or twisted,” he said, leaving Joe stunned.
Junior was quick to explain that he was referring to a series of eerie experiences he and Princess claim they encountered from the ages of nine and 11.
“We’ve actually experienced a lot of paranormal stuff, that’s what I mean,” he shared. “I think of a lot of ghost stories we’ve experienced together, we’ve experienced the same thing that we both can vouch for,” he went on to say.
The pair recalled moving into Katie’s “very old” house, which they said “looked haunted”, before beginning to hear strange noises inside the property.
The siblings said they slept in one room, while their mum and older brother Harvey were elsewhere in the house.
Recalling one particularly unsettling night, Junior said: “We stayed in the same room on the top floor, we had the door open, this was one night, we had the lights on, we had a family dog in our room just because we were a bit shook.
“And then in the middle of the night, we suddenly heard [footsteps] coming up the stairs,” he continued.
Princess added that the footsteps sounded particularly strange because they could hear them moving across the carpet.
Junior went on to say the experience frightened them so much that they began shouting out, initially suspecting that their mum was playing a prank on them.
“I don’t know how to explain it, it shook us, so we started screaming out, we thought mum was playing a joke on us or something,” he added.
“And then we started screaming out but no one was answering, we thought it was Harvey and we were like, ‘Harv what are you doing?’ Usually he roams, but no one was there and it [gave us] shivers,” he recalled.
Princess revealed that she had experienced something similar in the same house years later, but said the incident felt even more frightening because the footsteps seemed to be getting closer.
“I thought someone was in front of me,” she recalled. “I absolutely pooed myself.” The 19-year-old also clarified that Katie has since moved out of the property.
Princess now lives with her dad, Peter Andre, his wife Emily and their three younger children, who have largely been kept out of the public eye.
She has previously reflected on how her upbringing differed from that of her younger half-siblings, due to who her and Junior’s parents are.
Speaking to The Sun’s Fabulous magazine, the social media influencer explained: “It is strange when we are all out together, because people recognise me and Junior, but not them. It’s weird, as we are all from the same family, but I think it’s good as they get to live. When I see them I think, ‘Oh, you get to live a normal life.’ It’s so cool,” she said.
Princess and Junior are now taking on a new challenge together as one of four pairs competing in Celebrity Race Across the World.
The siblings are embarking on a gruelling 7,500km journey from the prehistoric jungles of Borneo to the sun-soaked southern tip of Australia.
Along the way, the contestants must travel across three countries and two continents, navigating five checkpoints before reaching the finish line in Melbourne.
Celebrity Race Across the World airs tonight at 8pm on BBC One
