Pro Recco and Brescia will meet in the Italian League final for the eight time in the last ten years.

Pro Recco and Brescia weren’t rivals in the final only in 2024 (when Recco beat Savona) and in the canceled 2020 season. Recco won six of the previous seven final encounters with Brescia, while Brescia triumphed in the 2021 Serie A1.

Both teams advanced to the final after their second semifinal games.

Pro Recco demonstrated excellent defense in the second semifinal match against Posillipo, beating the rival 15:6 in Naples (Recco had recorded a 22:11 win at home). Posillipo kept up with Recco during the first eight minutes, trailing 1:2 at the first break. But Recco started dominating in the second quarter. Before the third period, the visitors led 7:3. They opened the second half with three straight goals, building a comfortable 10:3 advantage in the 20th minute. Eleven Recco players got on the scoresheet, and five of them scored two goals each: Cannella,Pavillard, Condemi, Irving and Cassia.

Brescia defeated Savona 14:10 in an away match. The visitors imposed their rhythm from the early stages, building a 4:1 lead in the first quarter.  Early in the third period, they increased the margin to four (7:3) and maintained it until the end. Popadic and Ferrero were the top scorers with three goals each. Gullotta scored three for Savona.
