‘Raakh’ Review, Ali Fazal And Sonali Bendre’s Crime Drama Gives Goosebumps, Fans Say, ‘Well-Crafted’

The much-awaited crime drama, Raakh, starring Ali Fazal and Sonali Bendre is streaming now on Amazon Prime Video. The 8-episodes-show, directed by Prosit Roy, explores a chilling criminal case. The plotline of Raakh

Raakh is set in Delhi during the 1970s. The show begins with siblings, ‘Suman’ and ‘Sahil’, who leave their home to visit a radio station. Everything seems normal; however, when the children fail to reach, the family starts to panic. Their parents, ‘Roma’ (Sonali Bendre) and ‘Ashok’ (Aamir Bashir) start looking for answers. Eventually, the search turns into an official investigation led by ‘Sub Inspector Jayprakash’ (Ali Fazal).

‘Jayprakash’ is a dedication and disciplines police officer, who tries his best to find the children. He follows every single clue to find them. As he digs deeper into the investigation, he discovers that two criminals, ‘Rajjo’ and ‘Babu’ might be connected to the kidnapping. Overall, the series shows the intense search for the children. While the story itself is spine-chilling, the best part of the show is that it also spends an equal amount of screentime on showing the devastated family of the victims. It is the emotional side that connects with the audience.

Another strong point in Raakh is its realistic plot. Apart from showing intense action scenes, the show features unexpected twists, a detailed investigation and the slow process, which gives it a real feel. The backdrop also deserves appreciation as viewers can feel the pain behind the real-life Ranga-Billa incident through this show. Ali Fazal and Sonali Bendre are the anchors of the show

Is Raakh worth watching?

Yes, Raakh is definitely worth-watching. The main reason behind it is its gripping and spine-chilling storyline. The show offers an insight on the Ranga-Billa case. Another reason to watch it is the strong acting by Sonali Bendre and Ali Fazal. While Ali will leave you cheering for him, Sonali’s character will bring tears to your eyes. However, it is worth noting that there are a few flaws, might disturb the overall experience.
