Selections based on a soft track.
Race 1
1. Spenzalot resumed from a spell with a solid fifth in Highway company at Scone and followed that with an eighth against tougher opposition at Rosehill. He has since bounced back to winning form when scoring over subsequent winner Bellini Spritz at Tamworth when last produced. The extra distance shouldn’t pose any problems here and another victory beckons. 3. Spacetime Legend has found form of late having scored at Newcastle and then at Scone. He had finished second in his prior two startsso has been racing well for some time now. 4. Sebilla won a couple at Scone and Tamworth last August and September. She’s had two runs back from a spell this preparation and looks set to hit her straps again. 2. Jasper’s Way has finished third in three straight starts since winning at this track early last month and warrants respect.
How to play it: Spenzalot WIN.
Race 2
8. Flee With Me has had plenty of chances but ran well when a close second at Warren. He’s drawn the rails barrier here and should get every chance to figure prominently in the finish. 1. Ordinary Angel was safely held on debut but has since finished second in both subsequent starts and looms as a big danger against these. 4. Miss Peony has been placed in each of her past three starts and only needs to maintain that form to be in the finish. 6. Adamana has been down on form but can improve.
How to play it: Flee With Me EACH WAY.
Race 3
2. Media Spin has only had two starts either side of a spell for a debut third at Orange and a resuming second at this track. He’s drawn terribly here but has the talent to overcome that obstacle. 9. Gold Finger has been placed in both of her starts and looms as a leading contender, while 1. Life Is A Shiraz has been unplaced in both runs at Nowra and Newcastle and is having his first start for a new stable. 3. Panelli is a former Victorian resuming for a new stable after a recent trial placing.
How to play it: Media Spin WIN.
Race 4
3. Stockholm has been racing well and followed two second placings with an easy victory at this track at his latest start. He should push forward from an outside gate and take plenty of beating again. 8. Lightning Speed scored a good last-start win at Nowra and is racing well enough to give this a shake. 1. Lockdown Gamble ran a solid race when resuming with a midfield effort at Newcastle and should have derived benefit from that outing. 2. Blacklist will find this easier than his recent assignments in provincial and city company.
How to play it: Stockholm WIN.
Race 5
3. Glowing Rapids is resuming from a spell and was in good form before the break with a couple of third placings before a win at Cowra when leading. He is a trial winner at this track leading into this return to racing. 1. Deion is handy at best and can sprint well fresh here despite being down on form at the end of his last preparation. 7. Bolo Miss ran well when a last-start placegetter at Warren and has a solid record, while stablemate 8. Bounding Bon has bright place prospects.
How to play it: Glowing Rapids EACH WAY.
Race 6
7. Heaps Of Notice started a short favourite on debut at Parked and got the job done well to score a good win. There’s no reason she can’t go on with the job. 2. Tropic finished last at Warren when last produced but has ability and can improve sharply. 11. Ring My Bell led when finishing a solid last-start third at Scone and can give plenty of cheek, while 1. Quasimoto has been below best of late, but an improvement wouldn’t surprise.
How to play it: Heaps Of Notice WIN.
Race 7
3. Oakfield Utah looked good winning his first two starts at Tamworth and Taree in December and January. He’s since had two starts back from a spell for a fourth at Scone and a down-the-track Highway effort at Rosehill. He can bounce back here if he can overcome the wide gate. 2. Irish Jig fought on well when a last-start second at Tamworth and can run well again with a repeat. 5. Quick Sharp wasn’t far away when eighth in the same race Irish Jig contested last time, while 17. Moon Zone is a last-start Warren placegetter that has claims.
How to play it: Oakfield Utah WIN.
Race 8
3. Proclivity hit the line hard from back in the field to score at Tamworth five starts ago and then was unplaced in a couple before bouncing back with a Gulgong success earlier this month. He wasn’t beaten far when a last-start ninth at Tamworth. 8. Jamacri ran second here before winning at Warren and has claims on her current form. 7. Green Pineapple was a last-start second at this track when hitting the line hard. 1. Talkachino is looking for two wins in a row here and warrants thought.
How to play it: Proclivity EACH WAY.
Best Bets: Race 4 (3) Stockholm.
Race 7 (3) Oakfield Utah.
Best Value: Race 8 (3) Proclivity.
