For the third consecutive week, the Raiders have elevated DT Tim Keenan. And should he be active on game day — which seems likely considering Thomas Booker is OUT this week — this would be the final time the Raiders will be allowed to elevate him.

Keenan was a 7th round pick this year by the LA Rams out of Alabama. The 6-2, 320-pound nose tackle was released with the final roster cuts and the Raiders signed him to the practice squad.

NFL teams are allowed to activate a player from the practice squad three times. Should they want to activate again after that, they would have to sign him to the roster.

Keenan’s first game this season came against his former team in Week 7 and put up two tackles. He was active again in Week 8 against the Jets and had a sack in the game. The Raiders are in need of help with their run defense, which is what his duties would primarily be. Though thus far in his two elevations. the Raiders have been killed by opponents’ run game, so It’s hard to see how that plan is working.
