Visakhapatnam: The AP State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) on Tuesday said light rains accompanied by thunder and lightning are likely at isolated places in the districts of Parvathipuram, Manyam, ASR, Polavaram, Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts for the next four days. The report said, on the other hand, severe heat and heatwave conditions were affecting the state. The Managing Director of the State Disaster Management Authority, Prakhar Jain, stated that on Wednesday, severe heatwave conditions are likely in 76 mandals, while heatwave conditions may prevail in another 134 mandals across the state. He further added that on Thursday, severe heat waves were expected in 51 mandals and heat waves in 94 mandals. On Tuesday, the highest temperature of 44.4 degrees was recorded in Varadaiahpalem (Tirupati district), followed by Kopperapadu (Prakasam district) 44.1, Kommipadu (Nellore district), Karapa (Kakinada district) 43.6, Kadapa 43.5, Terannapalli (Anantapur district) 43.4, Nandanamarella (Markapur area) 43.3 and Talupula (Sri Sathya Sai district), Sanjamala (Nandyal district) 43.2 degrees each.
