Sreeja Konidela opens up about her painful past
A while ago, on Monday, June 8, 2026, Sreeja Konidela posted a video on her Instagram handle where she got candid about her past. She confessed that the thought that kept running through her mind was why she was going through so much. She said:
“I was stuck in a space asking, ‘Why is this happening to me, and why am I going through so much pain? Why is there a struggle after struggle, and what did I do to deserve this?’ And in this journey, I moved from that space of victimhood and to understand that life just doesn’t happen to me, but I have the power to create it.”

Sreeja Konidela further claimed in the video that for most of her life, it was her pain, her past, and the struggles she faced that shaped her. She believed that all the things that went wrong for her were what made her who she was. While speaking about the program that she took called Self Mastery Project by Sacred Paths, she added:
“For most of my life, I identified myself with my pain, my past, my struggles. To me, my identity was shaped by everything that went wrong in my life. But through this program, I started to see beyond that. Yes, my pain is still a part of me, but that’s not all that I am, and there is so much more to a person and discovering those layers has been one of the most beautiful parts of this journey for me.”

All about Sreeja Konidela’s past
At the age of 19, Sreeja Konidela decided to elope with her 22-year-old boyfriend, Shirish Bharadwaj. This was more than a decade back, in the year 2007. Her Arya Samaj wedding had become the talk of the town and had grabbed all the headlines at the time, especially because the couple had sought media and police protection. The reason for this, according to them, was opposition from Sreeja’s family. A year after their marriage, the duo welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Nivrithi Bharadwaj in 2008.

However, things took a sharp turn in their relationship when Sreeja filed a dowry and harassment case against her husband and his family in 2011. Later, she returned to her family home, with her divorce being finalised a couple of years later in 2014. It is worth noting that in 2024, Shirish passed away in Hyderabad, reportedly from health complications.

Together, they welcomed their daughter, Navishka, in 2018. However, it seems that once again, the marriage did not work out, leading the couple to separate in 2022. At the time, many fans noticed that Sreeja had dropped the Kalyaan last name. A year later, in 2023, Klayaan finally confirmed the news and shockingly claimed that he only gets to spend four hours a week with their daughter.
