Ramayana is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of this year. The film’s trailer, which was screened for select members of the media last week, was originally slated for a release on July 24. However, the makers postponed its online launch. Despite the delay, alleged clips from the unreleased trailer have now surfaced online. The trailer was also previewed during the film’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con, and more and more snippets have since made their way to social media.

Some people have also stitched the clips to form a 2-minute video resembling the trailer. There are also visuals of Yash’s character as Ravana, which many have claimed to be AI-generated videos. Amid this confusion, fans and netizens have urged the makers to release the trailer officially. A lot of people have also formed opinions based on the clips.

One user wrote, “#Ramayana Trailer (Leak Version) Review

~Visuals are absolutely looking world-class

~VFX looks polished and cinematic.

 Background score gives goosebumps.

 ~Ranbir Kapoor perfectly fits the aura of Lord Ram. ~Yash looks terrifying and powerful as Ravana. 9/10

Another added, “At this point, Namit Malhotra should at least release an official Ramayana poster. The trailer has already leaked, so what are they waiting for?” A separate post read, “Please release Ramayana movie trailer soon and also give trailer announcement @WorldOfRamayana

@malhotra_namit”
Meanwhile, during a conversation at San Diego Comic-Con, Ranbir Kapoor revealed that the film’s climactic face-off between Lord Rama and Ravana is yet to be shot. Ramayana will be released in two parts.

Ranbir said, “Lord Rama and Ravana will be appearing together at the end of the film, with maybe a meeting in the middle. But we haven’t shot that. So, we haven’t had the opportunity to work together. But, I have known Yash for some time now and I have been a big fan of his work. I truly believe that we needed somebody with his aura, his stardom, his outlook to play this role.”

The actor also shared that Yash has brought a fresh perspective to Ravana instead of relying on the conventional portrayal audiences have seen over the years.

“He has played it with so much swag, aura, and honesty that he has really made Ravana come alive. Over the years, we have a very stereotypical depiction of Ravana, but not this one.”

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, among others. Ramayana: Part 1 is scheduled to hit theatres on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 on Diwali 2027.
