Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Union Cabinet approving the increase the remunerative price for sugarcane by Rs 365 per quintal for the 2026-27 season, and approving the `Mission for Cotton Productivity’ with an outlay of ₹5,659.22 crore, aimed at achieving self-sufficiency in cotton and strengthening India’s competitiveness in the global textile markets by 2030-31.
In a social media post, Rao said increasing the remunerative price will will benefit nearly 5 crore sugarcane farmers across the country, along with 5 lakh workers employed in sugar mills and related ancillary activities. He also expressed gratitude for the Cabinet’s approval of three major railway multi-tracking projects covering 19 districts across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
He said the approval of the 3rd and 4th railway lines from Guntakal to Wadi is a major boost for Telangana and will significantly improve railway freight movement in the region.
