Rams release hilarious pre-draft hype video spoofing ‘Friday,’ and fans are loving it

The Rams didn’t just drop a pre-draft hype video Friday — they hijacked a piece of cultural history in the process, and it was brilliant.

Just days before the 2026 NFL Draft kicks off in Pittsburgh, the Rams rolled out a hilarious cinematic spoof of the 1995 cult classic film “Friday,” originally starring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker.

The Rams video, titled “Thursday,” wasn’t subtle. Neither was the timing of its release — on a Friday. This was a wink at LA culture, and it was excellent.

The Rams’ Kevin Dotson stole the show in the cinematic spoof video. YouTube

The Rams’ production team didn’t cut any corners, either. They flexed on ’em.

Terry Crews, who played Damon in the 2002 sequel, “Friday After Next,” stepped into the role of Deebo, filling the void left by Tommy Lister Jr. Rams pash rushers Jared Verse and Byron Young, both Pro Bowl players in 2025, flanked him as his “dawgs.”

The chef’s kiss was casting O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Destin Tucker to step into the roles made famous by their fathers — Ice Cube and Chris Tucker — they brought weight and legacy to the 3 ½-minute parody video.

Rams offensive lineman Kevin Dotson nearly stole the show, cruising in as Big Worm in a low-rider, Rams-colored curlers bouncing with every frame. It was absurd in the best way possible.

The closing line — “don’t sleep on Friday, though” — landed like a signature. Respect to the original.

Fans didn’t hesitate to give the video its flowers in the comments:

“10/10. No notes,” said one user on X.

“Elite content,” said the UCLA Bruins football account

“The Rams creative team just won the offseason,” wrote another user.

“This video is straight fire.” “The Chargers could never pull this off.” “DAAAAAAAMNNN!” wrote another, quoting the original movie.

The Rams hold the No. 13 overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, and as they look to build their roster and make it back to the Super Bowl this season, they’re already building moments on social media and literally rewriting the script.
