The Los Angeles Rams dominated the New York Giants en route to a 28-6 win on Monday night, a performance that left no doubt about this team’s ability when they’re in their own time zone.
Offensively, quarterback Matthew Stafford and receiver Davante Adams were unstoppable, racking up 195 yards and a pair of scores even as Adams was the defense’s main focus, given the absence of an injured Puka Nacua.
The Rams defense was equally effective, keeping the Giants out of the end zone entirely, though that was aided in part by a knee injury to Giants QB Jaxson Dart.

In general, though, the Rams did an about-face from last week’s lethargic performance.
Rams looked in sync
In every aspect of the game, this game felt like last week’s opposite, and not just because of the similar 27-7 and 28-6 scores.
Last week, Stafford threw for 155 yards, no touchdowns and an interception.
This week? 320 yards, four touchdowns and an interception.
Rushing yards also increased significantly, up from 122 to 163.
Furthermore, the defense, which gave up three touchdowns last week, held the Giants out of the end zone entirely.
Whether it was Dart behind center or Jameis Winston, who played the bulk of the game after Dart was sandwiched between two pass rushers and appeared to hyperextend his knee, the Giants offense was stymied.

It’s probably no coincidence that Aaron Donald made his long-awaited return and the Rams defense recorded a pair of sacks and an interception on Monday, but that clearly wasn’t the only factor at play.

What happened with the Rams travel to Australia?
Last week, the team decided to fly in shortly before the Australia game, as opposed to the 49ers, who arrived days earlier, and it clearly affected the Rams’ play.
On Monday, though, the Rams were again the team that’s supposed to be competing for a Super Bowl in their home stadium come Feb. 14, 2027.
Of course, there’s no guarantee that the Rams will continue to look this dominant. They play at the Denver Broncos on Sunday night this week, and the altitude could certainly take a toll.
But based on the level of play they showed Monday night, fans have no need to be concerned.

When rested, this team is absolutely capable of winning a Super Bowl, and as Nacua and defensive superstar Myles Garret eventually return, this team will only get better.
The Rams will also get another shot at the 49ers later this season, and it’s likely we’ll see a much improved version of the Rams in Santa Clara— at least, as long as they’re not dealing with jet lag.
