Ranbir Kapoor has finally addressed the long-standing rumours surrounding his reported involvement in Dhoom 4. Speaking on the sidelines of promoting Ramayana at San Diego Comic-Con, the actor categorically denied being a part of the much-discussed action franchise.
When asked if he was leading the next instalment of the Dhoom series, Ranbir responded, “No, right now I am working on Ramayana and another film called Love & War, which is directed by Mr Sanjay Bhansali.” His statement effectively rules out any association with Dhoom 4, putting years of speculation to rest.

Rumours of Ranbir headlining Dhoom 4 have circulated for years, with fresh reports emerging periodically across entertainment portals and social media. The speculation intensified after reports claimed that Yash Raj Films was considering him for the lead role, while makeover photos and fan edits further fuelled the buzz online.
There were also reports suggesting that a prominent South Indian star was being considered to play the antagonist. However, none of these claims were ever officially confirmed. Ranbir’s latest statement now makes it clear that Dhoom 4 is not part of his current slate.
Ramayana and Love & War are next
Ranbir is currently focused on two of the biggest projects of his career. Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, with its trailer expected to be unveiled soon. The mythological epic will be released in two parts, with the second instalment scheduled for Diwali 2027.
Speaking about portraying Lord Rama, Ranbir admitted that he initially felt both fear and self-doubt before accepting the role. Over time, however, those emotions transformed into gratitude as he immersed himself in the character. His other major project is Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The much-awaited period drama marks Ranbir’s reunion with the acclaimed filmmaker and is among the most anticipated Bollywood releases in the pipeline.
