Hyderabad:BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao on Friday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the world’s only ray of hope amid rising international crises and that the entire world was looking to him for peace.
Rao said the world’s war-like atmosphere was causing the loss of innocent lives, especially children, besides heavy damage to the economy and property. Referring to Hiroshima and Nagasaki, he warned that the threat of nuclear war had become a danger to the planet and human survival.
He was speaking as chief guest at the “Glow Peace” international peace conference held at a public school in Nacharam. The event drew thousands of students, parents, youth, teachers and spiritual leaders.
He said war could never solve problems and that peace dialogue alone could resolve disputes. He regretted that the spirit of peace was missing among leaders in some countries. Rao described the conference as a meaningful effort to plant the seeds of peace in young minds and urged students to practise peace from childhood.
Rao praised the school management for organising the programme on Telangana soil. He said nearly one lakh postcards from various schools would be sent to the Prime Minister, urging him to act as a messenger of peace.
