Rashmika Mandanna’s looks for the promotions of her upcoming movie Cocktail 2 are making headlines. Recently, while promoting the film’s trailer, she delivered one of her strongest looks yet while making a case for relaxed tailoring. Eschewing the usual glamour, she leaned into androgyny, opting for a fuss-free powder blue sleeveless shirt from label Rishta by Arjun Saluja and a pair of grey pin-striped, pleated relaxed trousers from The Frankie Shop.
Stylist Priyanka Kapadia played with proportions by pairing a soft chiffon top with pleated, wide-leg, high-waist trousers. The look came together—quite literally—with a loosely worn vintage grey logo tie by Givenchy from vintage accessories store Viange, which injected a borrowed-from-the-boys confidence to her look. Mandanna previously embraced androgynous dressing on the Cocktail 2 promotional tour when she stepped out in a head-to-toe look from H&M’s collaboration with Stella McCartney, wearing a slouchy double-breasted wool blazer over a crystal-embellished mesh bodysuit and two-tone straight-leg jeans.
There were minimal accessories with some jewels from Marvi and Jimmy Choo’s Brigitte 100 pumps on the feet. For her beauty look, the approach was equally edited. A clean, luminous base was paired with a smoky eye and a nude lip. Her hair was left open in soft, loose curls.
