It has been reported that Kerry Katona was overlooked by ITV to appear on I’m A Celebrity All Stars as bosses were concerned that viewers may have been shocked by her brutal honesty. Despite being crowned as Queen of the Jungle back in 2004, it is believed that bosses feel as though times have changed since then and they are having to tread a “fine line” when it comes to keep their audience happy.

The 45 year old mum of five, who has appeared on many reality shows since her time in the jungle, was overlooked in the 2023 All Stars series and the current one, which airs the final on Friday April 24.

According to reports, Kerry’s name has been thrown into the mix on more than one occasion but bosses have remained torn. Kerry life has been played out in the public eye over the years, from divorces, bankruptcy and substance abuse, there is little Kerry is unwilling to discuss.

A source explained to The Sun: “Everyone at I’m a Celeb loves Kerry and they’ll always back her as one of the most popular winners of the show.”

They added: “But times have changed and bosses have such a fine line to tread when it comes to keeping the audience happy. Kerry will tell you herself she’s like marmite, you either love her or you hate her!” The source continued: “There are also big hoops to jump through when it comes to who can cope in such an environment.”

“She was actually considered for the current All Stars series but not everyone was on board. Sadly, it looks like – despite her being synonymous with the show – she’ll never get a chance to do it again,” they said.

By her own admission, Kerry has also opened up about being snubbed by show bosses. In a previous interview, she told the publication:” I keep getting turned down for some reason. I think it’d be f**king amazing. I’ve been to the interviews for both series.”

She added: “And they said, ‘Definitely, Kerry. You were the first queen and had the highest ratings,’ but then they never came back. I’d do it in a heartbeat, not even to win it. Just for me.”

The source went on to tell the publication that bosses are concerned about Kerry’s “big mouth and she won’t be filtered.”

And this is why “bosses can’t take the risk of not knowing what she’ll say after the show is filmed, especially as the series is shot so far in advance.”

Despite her ITV setback, Kerry is reportedly in line to star in her own reality TV show, following the success of her fly on the wall show The Next Chapter, which came to an end in 2011.
