Reality TV star and fitness guru Sam Wood is behind bars in Queensland after being charged with alleged domestic violence offences in Noosa.

Queensland Police said they had charged a 46-year-old Victorian man with assault occasioning bodily harm (domestic violence) and strangulation in a domestic setting after they were called to an address in Noosa on Saturday at about 9pm.

Police said the man was refused bail and was due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.

A source with knowledge of the situation but not authorised to speak publicly confirmed the Melbourne-based fitness guru was the man charged.

The alleged victim cannot be identified under Queensland law.

A statement attributed to the Wood family appeared on Wood and wife Snezana Wood’s Instagram pages on Monday morning.

“This is a difficult time for all of us, we are working through this as a family and are cooperating with authorities,” it read.

Family and business contacts of Wood were approached for comment.

Wood built an online fitness and nutrition business, 28 by Sam Wood, after he rose to fame in season three of The Bachelor in 2015 where he met his wife Snezana.

In 2022, Wood sold the online fitness business to genomics group myDNA for $71 million. MyDNA is backed by Melbourne-based businessman and healthcare entrepreneur Dennis Bastas.

Wood remained the face of the online platform under the new owner.

About four months ago, Wood was revealed as the face of new business Ollo For Women, a medical weight-loss, nutrition and telehealth-focused platform.

As the name suggests, the endeavour is female-focused, catering to women aged 40 and over, with Wood doing the heavy lifting in the media and promotional space for the company.

However, it has not been all plain sailing for Wood.

In November 2025, it was revealed Wood was being pursued for more than $7 million in unpaid taxes by the Australian Taxation Office.

The deputy commissioner of Taxation launched civil action against Wood in the County Court of Victoria in October, seeking allegedly unpaid money for the tax periods ending June 30, 2022, June 30, 2023 and June 30, 2024.

A recent update on the court listing shows an agreement was recently reached between the parties and the case was dismissed without adjudication in September.

In November, Wood revealed he had rented his bayside home to Oasis superstar Liam Gallagher for six nights while the British band was in Melbourne to play soldout shows as part of their world tour.
