As of Friday afternoon, the Mets were still set to open their series against the Red Sox Friday night at Citi Field at 7:15 p.m.
But as of 2 p.m., Boston was stuck in Chicago, after dealing with “multiple plane issues,” according to the Boston Globe.
Masslive.com reported the Red Sox plane was scheduled to land not long after 4 p.m. at LaGuardia Airport, just minutes from Citi Field.

The Red Sox finished their series against the White Sox on Thursday.
The teams have games scheduled in Queens on Saturday at 4:10 p.m. and Sunday at 1:40 p.m.
The surging Red Sox bring a six-game winning streak into the series and have won 11 of their last 13 — a stretch that began with a four-game sweep of the Yankees at Fenway Park.

Their recent run of success, which has them 2 ½ games out of a wild card spot heading into Friday, began in Boston after they deal with another travel issue, as they were stuck in Denver following a series against the Rockies and got back to Boston around 5 a.m. the day they opened the series versus the Yankees.
