According to the CBS NFL pregame show, Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell remains hospitalized with the neck injury he suffered last Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. Sideline reporter Melanie Collins added another bit of interesting information, noting that Campbell—in her words—”he is determined to get back on this football.” Per Collins, Campbell told Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell:

“Just make sure the house is taken care of until I can get back.”

The last definitive update we’ve gotten from Jack Campbell was a written statement through the Lions in which Campbell said, “I have full movement in my lower body, and I’m continuing to make progress with movement in my upper body. I know there’s still work ahead, but I remain very optimistic. I’m taking things one day at a time, staying positive, and focusing on getting better.”

Since then, Dan Campbell has said the Lions linebacker continues to get better. And on Sunday, several Lions players and coaches showed up to their Week 9 game against the Miami Dolphins donning Campbell’s jerseys.

On Saturday, the Lions placed Campbell on injured reserve, meaning he’ll miss at least the next four games. It’s still unclear if his 2026 season is over, but it appears Campbell doesn’t believe his NFL career is over.

As always, if any updates are given on Campbell’s status or the future of his NFL career, we’ll continue to provide updates here at PrideOfDetroit.com. In the meantime, continue to send your best hopes and wishes to the Campbell family.
