A retired polytechnic college lecturer died after collapsing while his family was preparing for the funeral of his wife at Mungilipattu village in Chandragiri mandal of Tirupati district on Wednesday.
Muniswamy Naidu, 80, reportedly collapsed while family members and villagers were making arrangements for the funeral of his wife, Kasturi, who had died due to health problems.
Family members said Muniswamy suddenly collapsed and died while the funeral arrangements were under way.
Muniswamy had served as a lecturer at a polytechnic college before retiring. The couple had been married for more than six decades and had lived together.
Their deaths on the same day left family members and residents of Mungilipattu in grief. Family members and villagers later made arrangements for the funerals of both.
