Nalgonda: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday laid foundation stones for development works worth ₹99.55 crore at the Sri Lakshminarsimha Swamy temple in Yadagirigutta of Yadadri-Bhongir district.
The works include a Vedic school at Peddagutta with an outlay of ₹43.79 crore and a Nitya Kalyana Mandapam at the hill shrine costing ₹9.86 crore. He also laid foundation stones for a roof over the steps from Vaikunta Dwaram to the hilltop, estimated at ₹1.41 crore, and for steps from the VVIP lift to the mada veedhis near the ratha shala at ₹1.34 crore. A Deekshaparula Sadanam will be constructed at a cost of ₹43.12 crore.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham pontiff Vijayendra Saraswathi amid Vedic chants by students of the Veda Patashala.
The Vedic School will be developed in three phases over 15 acres with a built-up area of 1.40 lakh sq ft. The first phase will focus on the school building, which is expected to accommodate 500 students. Subsequent phases will include residential blocks, a dining hall, and a yagashala within the premises.
Legislative Council chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Konda Surekha, Adluri Laxman Kumar, Government Whips Beerla Ilaiah and Vemula Veeresham, Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, MLA Kumbham Anil Kumar Reddy, endowments secretary Sailaja Ramaiyer, commissioner M. Hanumantha Rao, and district collector Anurag Jayanti were present.
