Hyderabad: The revenue officials on Monday started a demolition drive of illegal constructions on government land in Gajularamaram. The action targeted unauthorised structures reportedly built on land allotted to DIL organisation.
Officials said the drive was carried out after identifying encroachments in Survey No. 49. As part of the operation, industrial sheds and commercial establishments were demolished, while residential houses were left untouched.
The demolition triggered tense scenes after alleged encroachers attempted to obstruct the officials from carrying out the exercise. Revenue and police personnel remained deployed at the site to maintain law and order as the operation continued.
