RINL Introduces Concept Of Departmental Safety Officers

The designated DSOs will discharge key safety responsibilities, including ensuring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at workplaces, adherence to the Permit-to-Work system, imparting safety training to departmental personnel, leading Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) walks, encouraging near-miss reporting, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, participating in hazard analysis, and supporting fire prevention activities.

Addressing the designated officers, director (operations) Subhasish Sengupta emphasised that DSOs play a vital role in fostering a positive safety culture among employees. He highlighted the importance of their active involvement in strengthening safety awareness and ensuring the adoption of safe work practices across the plant.

CGM (Works) I/c reiterated that there would be no compromise on safety at RINL. He emphasised that all efforts must be directed towards achieving a safety transformation while meeting production targets.
