Robbie Williams got choked up as he closed his show at a Spanish festival by bringing his beloved daughter Teddy on stage and sang emotional track Angels

Robbie Williams brings his daughter on stage in Bilbao

Robbie Williams ended his show at Bilbao BBK Live on an emotional note. The singer, 52, brought his rarely seen daughter Teddy, 13, on stage for his encore, Angels.

Former Take That star Robbie was finishing up his set at Spanish rock and pop festival Bilbao BBK Live when he decided to bring out his teen daughter. The two hugged and then he brought her to different areas of the stage so that they could bow to the audience together.

Teddy excitedly waved at the crowd and hugged her dad again before he began singing the final chorus. As he did, he never let go of her hand and even got a little choked up as he sang “she won’t forsake me”.

He appeared to be too emotional to sing the rest of the song, letting the audience take over as he put an arm around Teddy’s shoulder and kissed her head. The two then had a little dance and he held her arm in the air as he thanked the audience and wished them a goodnight.

Robbie shares his eldest daughter Theodora ‘Teddy’ Williams with his wife Ayda Field. The couple also have another daughter, Colette, eight, and two sons, Charlton, 11, and Beau, six.

The singer doesn’t often post about his children online, preferring to keep them away from the spotlight. Despite this, Teddy seems destined for the spotlight and has been seen acting on the set of Christmas film Tinsel Town, alongside Rebel Wilson and Danny Dyer.

Fans were delighted to see Robbie bring Teddy on stage. One wrote: “Nothing beats a dad‑and‑daughter duet, especially when it’s ‘Angels’ and they’re both floating on stage.”

“What a beautiful moment,” another added. “Robbie closing with ‘Angels’ and bringing his daughter out on stage pure magic. That song hits different with family on stage. Legend. Proper feel-good festival ending!”

A third added: “That is such a beautiful moment. There’s something incredibly special about seeing artists share the stage with their kids, especially during a massive anthem like ‘Angels’. The energy in Bilbao must have been unforgettable.”

‘Angels’ is largely considered to be one Robbie Williams’ most tear-jerking songs. The 1997 ballad was written by the singer himself, alongside Guy Chambers. He told The Telegraph in 2009: “‘Angels’ isn’t about anybody, it’s about the thoughts that loved ones that have passed on come back and take care of you.”

The song won an Ivor Novello Award in 1999 for Best Song Musically and Lyrically and was voted the Best Song of the prior 25 years at the 2005 Brit Awards. It spent 27 weeks in the UK charts and is Robbie’s best-selling song, with over a million copies sold in just the UK.
