Scone horseman Scott Singleton enjoyed success on the Randwick Kensington track on Monday when the unbeaten Lord Remlap scored in the TAB Highway Handicap, and he will be out to continue the winning form at Quirindi on Tuesday.
Mikayla Weir was aboard Lord Remlap when it extended its winning sequence to three, and the jockey will combine with the trainer again at Quirindi when partnering a number of leading contenders.
Debut third placegetter Rock Emperor will represent Singleton and Weir in the Disability & Aged Care Services Country Boosted Maiden Plate (1200m). Stablemate Lobbyist, to be ridden by Serg Lisnyy, will also line up in the event.
Rock Emperor had trialled well before having his first start at Tamworth and starting favourite when beaten just over two lengths. Lobbyist, meanwhile, has been placed in three of seven starts including a last start third at Armidale.
The former Joseph Pride trained Any Questions will be Weir’s ride for Singleton in the Mel Brown Catering Maiden Plate (1450m).
Any Questions had his first three starts for Pride when finishing sixth, fifth and fourth in provincial grade at Gosford, Wyong and Kembla Grange.
Since joining Singleton, Any Questions has had two runs for a third on the Beaumont track at Newcastle behind Newy, and a fifth at Scone when beaten a tick over two lengths.
The lightly raced Sir Herridah lines up in the We Care Disability Services Benchmark 58 Handicap (1200m) with Weir taking another ride for Singleton.
Placed in his first two starts at Scone and Muswellbrook last September, Sir Herridah resumed from a spell last month with a strong finishing victory at Dubbo when partnered by Mathew Cahill. He followed that up with a last start fifth at Muswellbrook when fifth of eight as an odds-on favourite.
Singleton and Weir round out their association for the Quirindi meeting when form mare Think Back starts in the Murravale Retirement Home Benchmark 66 Handicap (1600m).
Think Back has had four starts for Singleton having previously been trained by Peter Snowden, and Weir has been in the saddle for her wins at her last two starts at Muswellbrook and Armidale.
