Hyderabad:On RPF Raising Day on Sunday, Alakuntla Naveen Kumar, senior divisional security commissioner, Railway Protection Force, said that under Operation Amanat, an initiative to secure and return lost belongings of passengers this year, RPF/SC retrieved forgotten luggage including mobiles, gold and laptops in 219 cases valued at ₹1,01,81,346 and returned them to rightful owners.
Under Operation Yatri Suraksha, RPF/SC detected 71 cases of theft of passenger belongings and recovered stolen property worth ₹13,42,140. A targeted drive to curb illegal transportation of narcotic substances through railways led to the seizure of 230.54 kg of ganja and other narcotics valued at ₹14,10,00,950.
Naveen Kumar said RPF Secunderabad safely rescued 150 children and reunited them with families/NGOs, while 10 adults were rescued and rehabilitated.
