VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh government’s RTGS-powered CCTV360 surveillance system has helped trace missing children and reunite them with their families within a short span, officials said on Thursday.
Using artificial intelligence and real-time analytics, the system has enabled swift police response in multiple cases, with three missing children recently located across different districts.
In one case, two school students from Yelamanchili in Anakapalli district went missing on April 15. After a complaint was lodged, police sought assistance from the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS). The children’s photographs were uploaded into the CCTV360 system, which tracked their movement and identified their location in Visakhapatnam. Police teams reached the spot and safely brought them back.
In another incident, in Anantapur district, a missing boy was traced after his image was processed through the system on April 11. The Person of Interest (POI) analytics feature detected his movement towards Hyderabad, enabling police to intercept and rescue him.
Officials said the cases highlight the effectiveness of integrating AI-based surveillance with policing. They added that the system is increasingly being used to strengthen public safety and improve response time in missing persons cases.
