The shoot of Jr NTR’s much-awaited action entertainer Dragon is progressing at a brisk pace in Hyderabad. After a short break, the film’s team has resumed production, with leading lady Rukmini Vasanth joining the latest schedule alongside Jr NTR.

Rukmini Vasanth’s dream run continues

Rukmini Vasanth has emerged as one of the most sought-after actresses in South Indian cinema following the success of Sapta Saagaradaache Ello: Side A and Sapta Saagaradaache Ello: Side B. She has since bagged several high-profile projects, including Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups and Dragon. Reports also suggest that she has been cast in Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Dharman, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu.

Expressing her excitement about Dragon earlier this year, Rukmini had described working on the project as a special opportunity. She had also praised Jr NTR as a “true powerhouse” after the film’s official glimpse was unveiled on the actor’s birthday in May. While details about her character in Dragon remain under wraps, the actress plays Mellisa in Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. Director Geetu Mohandas has previously praised her performance, describing it as intelligent, restrained and layered.

About Dragon

Set in 1967 against the backdrop of the illegal international opium and heroin trade following the British departure from India, Dragon is mounted on a massive scale. Jr NTR plays Luger, a ruthless assassin, while Anil Kapoor essays the role of a Narcotics Bureau chief.

The film generated tremendous buzz with its action-packed first glimpse, introducing Jr NTR’s intense new avatar. Directed by Prashanth Neel, Dragon is scheduled to release in theatres on June 11, 2027, and is expected to be one of the biggest Indian releases of the year.
