The former This Morning hosts will be heading for one final court showdown in November 2026 as they finalise their divorce – but Ruth is loving life
Ruth Langsford is living her best life after her acrimonious split from estranged husband Eamonn Holmes.
The former This Morning hosts will be heading for one final court showdown in November 2026 as they finalise their divorce. Negotiations had stalled after two years over their shared assets, which totals to around £10million.
Initially, the couple announced their split after claiming they grew apart and their work commitments took them in “different directions”. However, it was later revealed that Ruth found text messages from another woman on Eamonn’s phone. Shortly afterwards, it was confirmed that Eamonn was dating relationship counsellor Katie Alexander.
However, Eamonn has not had the best time since his split from Ruth. Not only has he suffered from multiple health woes, his girlfriend Katie, 45, was left “devastated” after moving out of the £1.3million flat they shared together.
Ruth, on the other hand, couldn’t look happier.
The 66-year-old has been enjoying a number of lavish holidays and dinners with celeb friends. She has most recently jetted off to Positano, a famous Italian cliffside resort town, with pal Lucy Alexander.
Riding towards the picturesque Amalfi coast in a speedboat, Ruth looked like she was having the time of her life as she posed next to Lucy. “Wohooo!” she captioned the video she posed to Instagram as she grinned with a pair of shades.
Sharing a clip of the colourful houses nestled into the rugged Lattari Mountains, she wrote: “Have ALWAYS wanted to come here and it is AMAZING!”
“SO PRETTY,” she gushed as she gave her followers a closer glimpse of the pastel buildings stacked steeply towards the sea.
In other photos, Ruth posed next to lemon-themed mirrors, tea towels and jugs. Wearing a lemon-coloured top herself, she wrote: “LEMONS EVERYWHERE!” After tucking into a delicious lunch of tomato bruschetta and mozarella, she enjoyed a coke as she immersed herself in a gorgeous view of the sea. “Treating myself to a full fat coke!” Ruth admitted giddily.
Lucy also shared a photo of themselves enjoying the sunset on a pair of Aperol-branded bean bags. “One of our best ever nights,” she said.
Ruth agreed. “The Aperol Spritz & the stunning sunset… what a joy!”
Meanwhile, Eamonn has been struggling following his stroke in April.
According to The Sun on Sunday, Eamonn’s family are understood to be managing his finances after he was taken ill earlier this year. Earlier this week, it was also reported that the news host would not be returning to his GB News hosting job, though this has been denied by the channel’s bosses.
Eamonn began renting the three-bedroom flat after his split from Ruth in 2024, which Katie later moved into. However, Katie has since moved out.
Katie is still very much together with Eamonn and in love, but she’s moved out of the flat,” a source told the publication. They continued that it’s a “very sad situation” and that she had loved living there with him and making it a home.
They added: “Katie has been Eamonn’s rock and lifeline since he fell ill. She’s willing him to get back to full fitness and get their lives back on track.”
Mum-of-three Katie divides her time living at her home in West Yorkshire and the Surrey flat.
Eamonn has battled with his health over the years, undergoing surgery for both hips to alleviate chronic hip, leg, and back pain in 2016.
Following that, he fell down the stairs and fractured his shoulder. He then got a painful infection and later had severe spinal issues that led to bladder and bowel problems and a nine-day hospital stay. Later in 2022, he suffered another fall.
In April, he was found at his flat by a carer after suffering a stroke and has not been spotted in public since. Eamonn was missing from the TRIC Awards in the summer and offered his thanks to his viewers via a pre-recorded message after GB News won the Award for Best News Programme for the fourth consecutive year at the annual awards ceremony.
In the message, he addressed his ill-health. He said: “I’d dearly wished I could have been there to celebrate with the team, but for now my focus has to be on making a full recovery and getting back to my best.”
