Sahara had to check into a 30-day treatment program for drug and alcohol abuse at a rehab facility in Malibu. She shared the update in a video recorded in her bedroom at the facility.
On the first day of the program, Sahara shared that the venue was a “beautiful” mental health, wellness, and addiction treatment center. She wanted to document her days there and asked her fans to follow along with her treatment journey. ‘Hey, guys, I just wanted to update you and the journey that I’m on right now. I just checked into a mental health, wellness, drug and alcohol addiction treatment center retreat. It’s really beautiful. It’s in Malibu. I’m really excited to share my story with you guys. I’ll be here for 30 days. This is day one.”
Sahara added that she would bare her heart and share her vulnerable side through video updates about her rehab. She stated, “I’m also documenting everything, and I’ll be doing a YouTube video, so you guys can see the really vulnerable side. I’m going to keep it light on Instagram.”
Alcohol addiction and substance abuse weren’t the only struggles in Sahara Ray’s life. The model faced another health hardship in May 2024, when she revealed that she had been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. For the unversed, it is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that causes muscle weakness. The model developed the disorder after being struck by a drunk driver in April 2024, which left her partially paralyzed.
“It basically sent my body into shock, which sent my body into this crazy sickness,” Sahara said in a video following the tragedy. “I’m really hoping and praying that I get to walk again someday,” Sahara added.
