Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Thursday launched a fresh attack on party MPs reportedly in touch with the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction, using abusive language to describe the ‘rebels’ and accusing them of acting out of fear.
Speaking in Delhi, Raut said the party would respond after the Lok Sabha process is completed and asserted that the battle against defectors would continue “in Parliament, in the courts and on the streets”.
Taking a swipe at the MPs’ reported visit to Tirupati, Raut said, “What kind of new tradition is this? First commit betrayal and then go seek God’s blessings?” He further alleged that the ‘rebels’ were moving around out of fear and claimed that security had been increased at their residences. Without offering evidence, Raut also suggested that security had been provided for the “Rs 5 crore” they had allegedly received.
