Ram Charan is reportedly set to share screen space with a fresh face in his upcoming film with director Sukumar. Young actress Satvika Veeravalli has emerged as one of the contenders for the female lead, adding an interesting twist to the casting buzz.
Satvika is currently making her debut as a leading lady opposite Dulquer Salmaan in Aakasam Lo Oka Tara. While several established actresses have been linked to RC17, Satvika’s name surfacing as a possible choice has come as a surprise. If the buzz turns out to be true, it would be a major opportunity for the young Telugu actress to work with Ram Charan in a big-budget Sukumar directorial. However, the makers are yet to make an official announcement about the female lead.
A producer feels that casting a new actress could also help bring down the film’s production costs. “If the news turns out to be true, I would be very happy on behalf of the producers. They could directly save Rs 4-5 crore on the female lead’s remuneration,” he says.
He points out that several Bollywood actresses have become increasingly expensive in recent years, charging anywhere between Rs 5 crore and Rs 30 crore for a film, particularly when it is projected as a pan-India venture. He feels that actresses should take into account the actual market reach of Telugu films and consider more reasonable remuneration instead of adding to the production burden.
