The makers of Scene, starring Suriya in the lead, have unveiled the first look at Naslen from the upcoming thriller. The film, which marks the Malayalam actor’s debut in Tamil cinema, is scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 6, coinciding with the Diwali festival. The newly released poster and promotional video offer a glimpse into the dark world of Naslen’s character, Eswaran, a serial killer whose disturbing methods set the stage for a confrontation with Suriya’s character.
In the promotional video, DSP Inbaraj, played by Suriya, describes Eswaran as a ‘faceless, emotionless, inhuman predator’. The character appears to take a particularly sinister approach to his crimes, using social media to display them to the world. The reveal establishes Eswaran as a formidable adversary for Inbaraj, while hinting at the psychological dimensions of the film’s central conflict.
Scene brings together a prominent combination of talent from Malayalam and Tamil cinema, with director Jithu Madhavan making his Tamil directorial debut after the success of Romancham (2023) and Aavesham (2024). With Naslen stepping into a darker role and Suriya playing a police officer, the film positions itself as a crime thriller built around the pursuit of a dangerous killer.
Naslen makes his Tamil debut as a menacing antagonist
Naslen, who has emerged as one of the notable young actors in Malayalam cinema, takes on the role of Eswaran in what marks his first Tamil film. Known for his performances in Malayalam films, the actor now ventures into a different cinematic landscape with a character that appears to be a departure from the youthful roles that brought him recognition.
The film also marks Jithu Madhavan’s first Tamil directorial venture. The filmmaker established his reputation with Romancham, a horror comedy that found an audience through its distinctive blend of humour and supernatural elements. He followed it with Aavesham, a gangster comedy led by Fahadh Faasil that became a major success. Scene sees him move into the crime thriller space, with the newly released footage suggesting a more unsettling tone.

Nazriya Nazim is also part of the cast, marking her return to the industry after Thirumanam Enum Nikkah (2014). The ensemble further includes Anandraj, Lal and social media influencer Raj Priyan, who makes his feature film debut with the project. Dravid Selvam, known for his association with the YouTube sketch comedy channel Paridhabangal, has written the Tamil dialogues.
Suriya and Jyothika back the thriller under Zhagaram Studios
Jithu’s regular collaborator Sushin Shyam has composed the music for Scene. The technical crew includes cinematographer Vineeth Augustian, editor Ajmal Sabu, production designer Ashwini Kale and action director Chethan D’Souza. The combination brings together collaborators from different film industries for a production that is expected to appeal to audiences across linguistic boundaries.
Production on Scene began in December 2025, with filming wrapping up in July 2026. Suriya and Jyothika are producing the film under their Zhagaram Studios banner, with Jaishree Damodaran serving as co-producer. Netflix has acquired the film’s streaming rights, while Sony Music has secured the music rights.
With its Diwali release approaching, Scene is gearing up for a theatrical debut that brings together Suriya’s police officer, Naslen’s serial killer and Jithu Madhavan’s distinctive directorial sensibilities. The first look at Eswaran offers an early indication of the film’s central threat, setting up the battle between the officer and a criminal who appears determined to turn his crimes into a public spectacle.
