Scoop up Josh Jung while you can on fantasy baseball rosters

Though April was a full-blown heater for the Rangers’ Josh Jung, with his numbers and underlying metrics screaming “Add Me,” the fantasy world remained skeptical — ignoring him like he was an email from a Nigerian prince.

Despite being the eighth pick in the 2019 draft and entering the league with a ton of hype, fantasy managers have spent the past month trying to figure out if this is the long-awaited payoff from a player who has taunted us with his potential or just the latest setup before he reminds us why he was sitting on the waiver wires in the first place.

Jung was an All-Star who finished fourth in Rookie of the Year voting and helped the Rangers win the World Series in 2023 when he hit .266 with 23 homers, 70 RBIs and a .781 OPS.

He missed time in 2023 (fractured left thumb in August) and 2024 (fractured wrist), and had an underwhelming 2025 season (.251, 14 HR, 61 RBI, 53 R, .684 OPS in 131 games) before being a late-round flier in drafts this year. That draft status appeared to be justified after he went hitless with seven strikeouts in four March games.
