Vijayawada: The State Election Commission (SEC) has issued notifications scheduling elections to the posts of deputy mayors in 13 municipal corporations and vice-chairpersons in 87 municipalities and nagar panchayats for November 23 at 11 am.
For 11 municipal corporations — Vizianagaram, Eluru, Machilipatnam, Guntur, Ongole, Nellore, Tirupati, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur — the district collectors or joint collectors concerned will issue notices calling special meetings on November 18.
The elections will be held on November 23 at 11 am.
The Visakhapatnam district collector or joint collector will issue a notice on November 18 for a special meeting to elect the deputy mayor of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation.
The election will also be held on November 23 at 11 am.
Similarly, the NTR district collector or joint collector will issue a notice on November 18 for a special meeting to elect the deputy mayor of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation.
The election is scheduled for November 23 at 11 am.
The SEC has also directed the district collectors and district election authorities to authorise gazetted officers to conduct elections to the posts of vice-chairpersons in 87 municipalities and nagar panchayats.
