Second Round of TGSRTC JAC Talks Underway at Secretariat

Hyderabad: The second round of discussions with TGSRTC unions JAC is underway at the Secretariat here on Friday in a peaceful atmosphere.

The high-level officials’ committee, comprising Special Chief Secretaries Vikas Raju and Dana Kishore, along with TGSRTC MD Y. Nagireddy, is deliberating on the 32 issues raised by RTC employees.

On Wednesday, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar appealed to RTC employees to immediately call off the ongoing strike in the interest of public welfare and the protection of the organization.

The RTC remains a lifeline for the rural poor across Telangana, serving nearly 6.5 million passengers daily, including around four million women who depend on these services for employment, education, and healthcare needs. The Minister stated that the government has shown a positive approach toward resolving employee concerns.

Out of the 32 issues raised by RTC workers, 29 have already been agreed upon in principle, while discussions are ongoing on the remaining three technical issues. The government reiterated its commitment to RTC by providing monthly financial support of Rs.300 to Rs.400 crore and has already taken several welfare measures, including Rs.280 crore released through 2013 bonds apart from providing compassionate appointments to 1,134 families.
