Lady Marina Windsor has tied the knot with account executive Nico Macauley in a stunning wedding, opting to wear a very unique tiara for the special occasion

The second royal wedding of the year has taken place – with Lady Marina Windsor tying the knot with account executive Nico Macauley in a charming church ceremony.

Lady Marina is the granddaughter of the 90-year-old Duke of Kent, who was first cousin to the late Queen Elizabeth. Therefore, the bride is a second cousin once removed to King Charles and has in the past been at many high-profile royal events. Family and friends of both couples came out for the private ceremony and reception in North Yorkshire – the home of Lady Marina’s late grandmother Katharine, the Duchess of Kent – to celebrate the newlyweds.

According to Hello! Magazine, the bride wore a custom wedding dress crafted by designer Larissa Von Planta. She paired it with a veil made of antique Hapsburg lace, as well as a historic tiara that once belonged to her great-grandmother, Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark, who inherited the piece from her mother-in-law, Queen Mary. Lady Marina’s grandmother – who died in September 2025 at the age of 92 – also once wore the tiara.

Guests at the wedding included Princess Alexandra’s granddaughter, Flora Vesterberg and her husband, Timothy. Lady Gabriella Windsor, who made a rare appearance at Royal Ascot last week, was also there to mark the special occasion. Lady Marina’s grandfather, the Duke of Kent, who appeared at Trooping the Colour and the Garter Day ceremony in recent weeks was also there.

Her father, George Windsor, Earl of St Andrews and mother, Canadian academic Sylvana Tomaselli, are said to have watched the ceremony full of emotion.

The main wedding ceremony took place at All Saints Church, Hovingham, while the reception was hosted at the family home of Lady Marina’s grandmother, the late Duchess of Kent, in North Yorkshire.

Lady Marina announced her engagement one year ago, sharing three photos on social media with the caption: “Very happy!” In one of the images, she held her hand up to show off her engagement ring.

Marina, who works as a Philanthropic Executive at The Big Give, and Macauley , who is an account executive with Zscaler, had been dating for two years when they got engaged, according to reports from Tatler.

Lady Marina was born at the Rosie Hospital in Cambridge on September 30 1992 and was given the full name Lady Marina Charlotte Alexandra Katharine Helen Windsor.

Until 2008, Lady Marina was 25th in line to the throne, but she forfeited her place to be confirmed into the Roman Catholic Church, along with her elder brother. Their younger sister, Lady Amelia, has not converted and remains in line to the throne.

Lady Marina’s wedding is not the only royal wedding to take place this year. Two weeks ago, Princess Anne’s son Peter Phillips married NHS nurse Harriet Sperling in a ceremony in Cirencester, which saw the King and Queen, and the Prince and Princess of Wales attend.
