A former Strictly Come Dancing star has claimed a couple on their series ‘didn’t like each other very much’ and said their elimination didn’t upset the professional dancer

A former Strictly Come Dancing contestant has spilled on what he thinks was a secret feud brewing on set. Wynne Evans turned into a sleuth on TikTok to reveal his findings, insisting the family feel isn’t always there between some hopefuls.

He was asked: “Were there any partnerships that didn’t get on well during your series, and if they didn’t then what would happen during breaks and behind the scenes and things? and how…”

Answering the question, the Welsh Opera singer, 54, said: “There was one couple in my year, if I’m honest, that didn’t like each other very much. And when they got knocked out I remember the pro was… not upset.”

He stopped short of revealing who the pair were, instead he stayed quiet and simply nodded. Fans were desperate to discover who he was talking about and pleaded with him to share more.

Other speculated, coming to their own conclusion. One teased: “Neil and Toyah,” with a laughing face emoji, while a second pondered it if was “Nick and Luba.”

Wynne was a competitor in 2024, starring alongside Katya Jones. He became the eighth star to be eliminated from his series and later became embroiled in scandal surrounding his alleged behaviour on set. He faced a series of scandals whilst taking part in the Strictly Come Dancing live shows and its subsequent live tour.

Earlier this month, he hit out at his former Strictly co-stars. Again taking to TikTok, Wynne proved he’s not willing to shy away from the controversy. In recent footage, he talked about if he was still in contact with his former Strictly dancing partner, Katya Jones, or former EastEnders star, Jamie Borthwick. Wynne said: “I’ll answer these in one.

“Short answer – no. Longer answer – of course they all reached out to me when I left. Privately, they all gave me their support.

“But, when I asked them to do it publicly, they said they’d have to check with their publicists. I kind of understood that. Even though, I’m a guy who if I’m your friend, I’m your friend through thick and thin. That really surprised me actually about the whole celebrity community.”

He went on: “I thought they were my friends but, actually, it was c***. All my friends from opera – no problem at all. I hear from them all the time.

“So, yeah, no I don’t hear from them. Anton is the exception to the rule. I’ve heard from Anton, and he’s a top bloke. He invited me to his show.

“I saw Lauren, she was in his show, and she came around my house the next day for lunch but Anton – he was really nice. He’s a top, top bloke. Of all the people there, I would say he’s the most real. I think he’s just a good, solid bloke.”

Following the scandal, Wynne was cut from his Radio Wales show, which he had hosted since 2016. A spokesperson for the BBC said at the time that there were also “no plans” to work with him again.
