The chase for an Alabama high school football state championship is getting thinner as teams across the state prepare for the second round of the 2026 AHSAA playoffs.
Second-round matchups are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 13, where teams will compete for a spot in the quarterfinals. The private school classifications will play four postseason rounds, while the public school classifications will play five.

For the first time, the AHSAA football state championships will be held in Mobile. Flag football championships kick off the event Dec. 1, followed by the private school championships Dec. 2 and the six public school classifications Dec. 3-5.
