The Ohio High School Athletic Association girls soccer tournament is now down to the regional finals after semifinals action on Nov. 3. A number of Greater Cincinnati teams are now just one win away from reaching the OHSAA state tournament.

Ten regional semis in five divisions were played and both of Cincinnati’s defending OHSAA state champs went down. Here are the division-by-division results from those games and what’s on the horizon for the regional finalists.

During the intermission between regulation and sudden death overtime, Mason superintendent Jonathan Cooper expressed his desire for a goal in the first minute.

Senior Hailey Hommel, who has a knack for scoring in quick fashion, brought that manifestation to fruition with a goal just 51 seconds into the extra period, giving the Comets a 2-1 win over Lebanon to advance to their second regional final in the last three seasons.

“The message was, ‘It just takes one.’ We poured our confidence in them and believed that we could do it. We had so many chances in regular time and we were just trying to pour our confidence,” Mason coach Sami Ratowski said.

It was Hommel’s ninth goal of the year and the third straight game where she found the back of the net. It’s the second time this year she has scored in at least three straight games, also doing so against Colerain, Middletown, Fairfield and Walnut Hills in early September. Many of those goals have come on assists from senior Bella Anderson, who notched her 12th of the season on the game winning goal.

“She forms such great bonds with the entire team. She’s a really amazing captain, probably my favorite, and she really tries to connect with people on a deeper level,” Hommel said.

Mason took control of the game from the outset with long stretches of possession, but couldn’t put many shots on frame. Lucy Wiethe broke the stalemate with a roller across the goal in the 24th minute, not long after she subbed in.

But Lebanon, unbeaten in October with a goal differential of 27-4, wouldn’t go quietly. The Warriors applied immediate pressure to open the second half, equalizing on a rocket from Maddie Wagers in the 43rd minute.

In the rest of regulation, Lebanon earned a few corners and free kicks in dangerous positions, but the only real threat was an Anderson breakaway and head-on shot that was smothered by Warriors keeper Carly Lansing.

Lebanon graduates 11 seniors in Lansing, Wagers, Abby Nisonger, Paige Hensley, Georgia Stokes, Ali Kerns, Maia Nelson, Brianna Michaels, Emma Smith, Teagan Pullen and Zoe Hauser. They led the Warriors to a 12-4-4 record, their third straight season with at least 11 wins.

The Comets, now 15-3-2, will face Dublin Coffman, which beat Olentangy Liberty 2-1, in the Region 3 final at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at Fairborn’s Skyhawk Stadium. The Rocks are 11-2-4 this season and ranked No. 8 in Division I by MaxPreps.

“We’re really prepared, we know what’s coming for us, we’ve thought about what’s coming ahead. We take the time in practices and review game film. When it comes down to it, we know we have to show up and play hard,” Hommel said.

The undefeated, 20-0, Seton Saints are one win from getting back to the Division I state semifinals. Last year’s Division I runner-up beat Lakota East 4-0 with a hat trick from Shanell Humes. The Saints have outscored their postseason opponents 20-0 in three matches.

Seton will rematch with Centerville after the Elks took down Oak Hills 2-1. Seton beat Centerville 3-0 on Aug. 22 in what was just Seton’s third game. The Region 2 championship will be at noon on Nov. 7 at Bellbrook.

On Sep. 26, Mount Notre Dame got the better of Anderson in a 4-2 victory. Just over a month later the Raptors proved they’ve become a very different team. In the regional semifinals on Nov. 3, Anderson avenged its loss with a physical 2-1 win against the Cougars.

Anderson rallied from a halftime deficit in the semifinals, as leading scorer Ava Bergman knotted the game in the second half before Maddie Boggess nailed the game winner with just five minutes remaining.

Anderson’s girls soccer team poses after winning the OHSAA Division II regional semifinal against Mount Notre Dame on Nov. 3, 2026.

What were the big differences for the Raptors after their earlier defeat? Anderson’s captains said it had as much to do with off the field changes as strategy on the pitch. The team grew much closer over the course of the season thanks to extensive team bonding.

“We really try to connect with each other outside the field,” Boggess said.

“We’re so close together as a team, we’re like each others best friends,” Bergman added. “We’re gonna do whatever it takes to keep playing.”

Mount Notre Dame’s season comes to a close at 13-5-2. The Cougars graduate seven seniors: Heidi Layton, Holli Forcum, Ellie Reeves, Carmela Pagano, Anna Klems, Cate Ewing, and Brooke Goodhart.

Anderson improves to 13-7-0 and advances to the regional final for the second straight year. The Raptors will meet St. Ursula for the first time in the Region 6 finals.

St. Ursula defeated Harrison 3-2, allowing a pair of goals in the second half while adding on a late score themselves to stay ahead.

The Raptors and the Bulldogs will play for their regional championship at noon on Nov. 7 at Princeton.

Awaiting Ross will be Indian Hill who took down last year’s Division IV champion, Summit Country Day, 2-1. Indian Hill, like Ross, is also undefeated, but is now 16-0-4 with some ties on the record. They’ll meet at 11 a.m. at Lakota East on Nov. 7.

Madeira, last year’s Division V state champions, will not repeat as state champions now in Division IV. The Amazons met Alter in the Region 13 finals and took a 1-0 lead in the first half before the Knights scored two for a 2-1 lead. Madeira tied the game at 2-2, but the Knights added a later score to seal the 3-2 victory.

Maiemont and Taylor tied 2-2 in the regular season, but the Warriors pulled through against their Cincinnati Hills League rivals 5-0 in the postseason. Mariemont avoids another CHL battle with Madeira’s loss and faces Alter at noon on Nov. 7 at Mason.
